Your body already knows how to do this. Let's help you hear it again.
You don’t need fixing.
The culture we live in promotes an (unhealthy) obsession with micro-managing our bodies. It screams that you can't trust your own cues, and that the next diet or lifestyle change is the key to fixing what's "wrong" with you. It promises that changing your body is the end-all-be-all. And to spend your life chasing that.
Here's the truth: there's nothing wrong with you, and you can get back to a place of trusting your body. It won't be perfect (because that doesn't exist) and it won't always be easy, because this culture loves telling you that you can't trust yourself. But it's worth it.
A little about me
Hi - I’m Keri. An LCSW, Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor, and therapist in Tampa, FL.
I spent years stuck in my own cycle of chronic dieting - the rules, the starting over, the exhaustion of it - and it was a significant part of my own healing journey that brought me to this work. I don't share that to make it about me. I share it because I want you to know I'm not just trained in this - I've lived it, and I won't take you farther than I've gone myself. I tell folks I work with that Intuitive Eating changed my life (and that doesn’t mean it’s a one-size-fits-all approach). Even after going back to dieting (and torturing myself), I eventually found my way back and it changed everything for me. I want that for you, too.
In addition to my clinical training, I'm a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor. This means I did extensive training with the creators of IE (you can read more about them here). We'll work from a HAES (Health at Every Size), anti-diet, fat-positive approach to your relationship with food and your body.

if any of this sounds familiar, you’re in the right place
You're so used to following a diet plan that you're just not sure how to make your own choices
You can't remember the last time you ate something because you wanted it - not because you were "supposed to"
You worry you'll gain weight if you stop the diet cycle
You're afraid that if you let yourself have what you want, you'll never stop eating
You know what you are doing is not actually working, and you want something different (even if you're not sure yet what that looks like or have faith something better exists)
Your body doesn't need to be fixed. What you may need is guidance getting back in touch with what it actually needs.
Tried Intuitive Eating on your own and felt like it didn’t click?

What Intuitive Eating Therapy in Tampa, FL Looks Like
This isn't a new diet with a nicer name. As a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor, I draw on these principles to help you rebuild trust with your body - not as a set of rules, but as a framework for finally hearing what it's actually telling you.
✔ Reject Diet Culture Find a new way of living that doesn't start with a plan to follow.
✔ Hunger & Fullness Reconnect with cues diet culture taught you to override.
✔ Make Peace with Food No more "good" foods and "bad" foods - just food.
✔ Challenge Diet Culture Thinking Name the beliefs about food and your body you were taught, and figure out what you actually think.
✔ Emotional Eating Navigate emotional experiences and food noise with more ease, and without food being the only tool that helps.
✔ Body Trust & Movement Find more respect for your body, and movement that actually feels good (not as punishment).
What We Don't Do Here
Tell you that I'm the expert (you're the expert of your own body and story)
Tell you that you need to lose weight
Any form of judgment (nothing you say will surprise me)
Decide how fast we go
Hand you a meal plan on your way out
My approach is weight-inclusive, LGBTQIA+-affirming, and neurodivergent-friendly. Not as a checkbox, but as a genuine commitment to who I am and who I work with. If you've spent time in spaces that didn't actually feel safe, I take that seriously.
One important note: intuitive eating is not the "hunger/fullness diet" (a common trap for people newer to IE). Working with a therapist while you explore this helps make sure it doesn't quietly turn into just another plan to follow.

FAQs
-
A framework for rebuilding trust with your body's own hunger, fullness, and satisfaction cues, instead of following external food rules. It's not a diet - it's the opposite of one.
-
No. There's no plan to follow, no foods off-limits, and no goal of weight change. That's the whole point.
-
Weight change isn't the goal, and I won't frame it that way. Some bodies change, some don't - the work is about your relationship with food and your body, not the number on a scale.
-
Not quite (regardless of what the TikTok influencers say) - it's eating based on what your body is actually asking for, which often looks different from unrestricted eating once food stops being a battleground. It takes practice to hear that signal clearly again.
-
Intuitive eating is one of the core frameworks I use in that broader work, alongside Brainspotting and parts work. If things feel more serious than "I want a better relationship with food" - body image distress, a binge/restrict cycle, a longer history you want addressed directly - start with the Disordered Eating & Body Image page. This page goes deeper on intuitive eating specifically.
-
Absolutely - and it should be. Whether you are neurodivergent, highly sensitive, or part of the LGBTQIA+ community (just to name a few), you deserve individualized care that takes your wants and needs into account.
You don’t have to figure this out on your own.
I offer a free 15-minute consult so you can get a feel for whether this is the right fit — no pressure, no commitment.
